I met Robin Mednick because she was the Canadian contact person for "The Good Life Show" with Jesse Dylan, and I was a potential interviewee. Robin and I have never been together in person but have had many phone conversations in the year or so that we first came to know about each other...and I tell you this: If I nominate one person as my personal hero, it's Robin, who founded one of the most successful efforts to help children in the poverty-stricken but proud nation of Niger receive an education.
What started out as a small idea between 3 people has taken on a life of its own and now involves thousands of individual supporters and major corporations standing behind Robin and her work to provide schools and school supplies to the children of Libore (Niger). Please do yourself the greatest of favors and go to this site (http://www.pencilsforkids.com/video.html) and meet Robin, her cohort Ed, the mayor, vice mayor and people of the village of Libore as Robin delivers the latest shipment of school supplies and visits the school she helped to make possible. You'll leave with a smile on your face and a tear in your eye. It's also my hope that it will prompt you---or your church or community organization---to stand with the many who stand with Robin and support her work to educate all children, everywhere.
