Half of the time
we're waiting for a hand of kindness
to break us like a wave
and turn us toward Your face.

Who was he to say anything?
Job,
He wasn't God, just a creature of this earth
and happy to be alive
Dust was just par for the course

I looked inside
and saw a woman step barefoot into the woods
with the glory of the sun
shining through her transparent scars
It reminded me to take joy in this day because
death has a way
of reminding us to live
